Hot Links: Staring Contest Edition
As I write this, Roo is staring me down. He really, really wants to sit on the comfy chair with me and wedge himself against my elbow, making typing impossible. I will not cave. I will not. I will… I totally caved and can no longer move my right arm. For your browsing pleasure, here’s the best of simple living, at least for as long as I can feel the circulation in my fingers…
First off, if you’re decluttering and were interested in my post on donating to charity, cruise by The Wisdom Journal to find out How to Research a Charity. This is a great nuts-and-bolts post, just in time for holiday giving.
Want to win $500 for the charity of your choice? Head to My Super Charged Life and enter the giveaway. All you need to do is leave a comment with the charity you choose and your reason for supporting it. Jeff is donating money for every single comment left, so head on over and pump up that comment count! The deadline is today, so please don’t wait!
Over at The Simple Marriage Project, an ongoing discussion of intimacy has been taking place. For married, committed, or curious readers, it’s been an engaging conversation.
Carla Green + Chic has an interesting discussion started on greenwashing and how much is too much.
Simple Mom riffs off a great post at Get Rich Slowly with Skimp on the Unimportant So You Can Spend on What Matters. I love this philosophy, and picture at the top of the post is an ideal example of where to skimp.
Marc and Angel Hack Life tell us What We All Want to Be When We Grow Up. It’s one word; see if you can guess it before clicking over and reading the short and sweet story there.
Preparedness is part of living a simple life, at least for me. Frugal Dad offers seven ways you can Prepare for a Sudden Change. In today’s climate, it’s a guide well worth reading.
Squawkfox has made some cool holiday freebies available, my favorite of which is the Printable Gift Tags (and other goodies). Talk about making things simple!
If you’re looking to make lasting and substantive changes in 2009, I highly recommend heading over to Think Maya and browsing the archives. Maya’s blog is incredibly thoughtful and very focused on helping readers dig deeper.
