Simple Blogging Computer Setup
On Simplicity has reached its six-month anniversary, and I’m both proud and exhausted. It’s been much more work than I ever anticipated, and it’s all been worth it. The huge bottom line is you. The community that’s developed has blown me away! And so, since the success of On Simplicity has truly been a community effort, I’m here to offer up a taste of what’s to come and get any feedback you may have.

First, I’ve really considered the first half a year as an incubation period. Tinkering with posting schedules, writing methods, and topic areas have been the focus. Some very cool, unplanned things have emerged, like Wednesday’s Three Things community posts. (I love reading the responses; you have no idea how much!). On the other hand, some things I thought I would accomplish didn’t happen. C’est la vie.

At the end of the day, interacting with you has dramatically improved life for me. I’ve gained a wider perspective, not to mention some incredibly helpful tips and ideas. Plus, as a collective group, On Simplicity readers make me smile on a daily basis, and that’s no small deal to me. So thank you: for reading, for commenting, for sharing or stumbling or simply smiling as you read something I wrote. It means a great deal to me. And keep reading! In Frank’s words, “The best is yet to come.”

On to the the updates!

I’ll be switching over to a new theme. I was lucky enough to win a customized version of Blogsessive’s flagship theme, and that will be debuting soon. I’ve always had the intention to changing over to a customized theme when the time was right, and that time seems to be now. If you’re a blogger and you haven’t had a chance to check out Blogsessive, I highly recommend it; The Ten Commandments of Blogging and Blogging Myths Busted are great examples of why.

Also, I’ll be adding in some advertising. (That sound you hear? It’s my husband sighing, “Finally!” :))  I’m trying to keep it minimal, since keeping the site looking, well, simple, is very important to me. If there’s ever an ad that’s find offensive or inappropriate, feel free to let me know so that I can avoid it. If you have any feedback on any of the updates you’ll be seeing, feel free to drop me a line. I can’t promise I’ll change anything, but I am interested in hearing what you have to say.

That’s it for now! Have a fantastic day and know that I appreciate your readership more than I can express.
